Chennai, Jun 12: The much-anticipated Tamil film Akkenam, directed by Uday K and featuring veteran actor-producer Arun Pandiyan alongside his daughter Keerthi Pandiyan, is all set to hit theatres on July 4, the makers announced on Thursday.
Actress Keerthi Pandiyan took to X to share the news, writing, “#Akkenam releases on July 4th in theatres. Trailer and audio from June 14th.”
This film has generated buzz among cinephiles as it marks the second on-screen collaboration between the father-daughter duo, who were last seen together in the critically acclaimed Anbirkiniyal.
Produced by Arun Pandiyan in association with Saravana Kumar and A K Sekar, Akkenam boasts a strong ensemble cast that includes Adithya Shivpink, Ramesh Thilak, and GM Sundar.

The film's technical crew features Vignesh Govindarajan as the cinematographer and Barath Veeraraghavan as the music composer. Editing is by Devathyan, while Bhuvaneshwaran has served as the co-director. The art direction is handled by Raja, and stunts have been choreographed by PC Stunts.
Lyricists Mohan Rajan, Karthick Netha, and Chandy have penned the songs for the film.
Speaking about the project, director Uday K shared that the film's narrative is designed to be fast-paced and engaging, with major portions shot across Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry, and select sequences filmed in notable North Indian locations.
Adding to its uniqueness, Akkenam features a background score recorded in a well-known European recording studio, enhancing the cinematic experience. With filming complete, the project is currently in its post-production phase and gearing up for release.
