Mumbai, June 12: Expressing deep sorrow over the tragic Air India Boeing crash at Ahmedabad International Airport on Thursday, Jagadguru Swastishri Dr Bhattaraka Charukeerthi Panditacharyavarya Mahaswamiji, the pontiff of the Jain Mahasansthan of Jainkashi Moodbidri, has offered prayers for the souls of the deceased passengers and crew, both from India and abroad.
In a statement, Swamiji said, "It is with great sadness that we received the news of the Air India disaster. May the departed souls attain peace and salvation, and may God give strength to the bereaved families to bear this immense loss."

He also emphasized the urgent need for technological upgrades in aviation to prevent such tragedies from recurring. "This is a moment for global aviation experts to reflect seriously. Such incidents must never happen again, especially involving international flights. We pray to Lord Jina and the deities of Jin Shasana to grant strength to all families grieving this enormous loss," he added.
Condolences by Lakshman C Poojary Chitrapu

Lakshman C Poojary Chitrapu, senior Tulu-Kannada leader in Greater Mumbai and vice president of the Mumbai region of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), also expressed deep grief over the incident. He prayed for peace and salvation to the souls of all those who perished in the tragedy.
