Washington, Jun 15: In a strong rebuttal to circulating media claims, the United States has categorically denied inviting Pakistan’s Army Chief, General Asim Munir, to a recent military parade in Washington. A senior White House official clarified that "no foreign military leaders were invited," firmly dismissing what they termed as misinformation.

The military parade, held to commemorate the founding of the United States Army on June 14, 1775, also coincided with the 79th birthday of President Donald Trump.

Sources within the US administration emphasized that such reports were "baseless and misleading," suggesting that they may have been circulated with the intention of sowing diplomatic discord, particularly between Washington and New Delhi.

The controversy has been viewed as a diplomatic embarrassment for Pakistan, especially after a recent visit to the US by a delegation led by former Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari reportedly failed to secure any high-level meetings or significant outcomes.

The clarification comes at a time when US-India ties remain on a strong footing, and Washington appears cautious not to let misinformation impact its strategic partnerships in the region.
