Hyderabad, Jun 17: Samantha Ruth Prabhu has firmly denied rumours of reuniting with her ex-husband Naga Chaitanya for the promotions of their iconic romantic film Ye Maaya Chesave, which is set for a re-release on July 18, 2025—15 years after it first hit the screens.
Speaking to Bollywood Hungama, Samantha clarified, “No, I am not promoting Ye Maaya Chesave with anyone. In fact, I’m not promoting the film at all. I don’t know where this talk is coming from. Maybe fans of the film want to see the lead pair together. But one can’t live one’s life through the audience’s lensing of life.”

The 2010 film, directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon, marked Samantha’s Telugu debut and also starred Naga Chaitanya, who later became her husband before the couple parted ways in 2021. The film remains a fan favourite for its soulful music and heartfelt storytelling.
Interestingly, Samantha also revealed that her very first shot in cinema wasn’t for Ye Maaya Chesave but for the Tamil film Moscowin Kavery, though she admits she hardly remembers it due to scattered shooting schedules. However, she vividly recalls every moment from Ye Maaya Chesave.
“The first shot I did for that film was at the gate, with my character Jessie meeting Karthik (Naga Chaitanya) for the first time. And I remember everything about it—every single detail. It was fantastic working with Gautham Menon, who knew exactly what he wanted and how the character should come across,” she added.
Meanwhile, a video of Samantha surfaced online this morning showing the actress visibly annoyed by paparazzi. In the clip, she is heard saying, “Stop it guys!” while being clicked, drawing attention on social media.
With Samantha confirming her non-involvement in the film’s re-release promotions, fans may not get to see a nostalgic reunion, but the return of Ye Maaya Chesave to the big screen is expected to rekindle its magic for audiences new and old.
