Mangaluru: Federal Bank donates electric goods carrier rickshaw to Olavina Halli, Kinya

Mangaluru, Jun 18: In a heartwarming ceremony, Olavina Halli in Kinya proudly received a Bajaj electric goods carrier rickshaw, generously donated by the Federal Bank, Mangaluru region. This initiative was made possible through the dedicated efforts of Dilip Dias, the former manager of Federal Bank, along with Sanjo J Joseph, deputy vice president and regional head of the Mangaluru region, and Padmanabha Hegde, assistant vice president and branch head of Federal Bank's Mangalore Branch.

The keys to the vehicle were presented to Sr Aileen Mathias, the administrator of Olavina Halli, in the presence of provincial superior Sr Irene Menezes and other esteemed sisters from the province and community. This vehicle will serve as a vital resource for the centre, enabling them to provide food to destitute men and women residing in various houses on the campus.











Sr Irene Menezes expressed her heartfelt appreciation to Federal Bank for their generosity and unwavering support for the underprivileged. Sr Aileen Mathias also conveyed her gratitude to Dileep Dias, Padmanabha Hegde, and Sanjo J Joseph for their tireless efforts in securing this invaluable gift for the center.

Fr Cyril Pinto, the chaplain, blessed the vehicle during the ceremony, offering prayers for both the donors and the future users of this essential resource.

Located on the outskirts of Mangaluru city, Olavina Halli is a 105-bedded destitute home and ashram that provides care for individuals with no one to look after them. Established in 1974 by Sr Amelia Cimolino, a sister of Charity of Saints Bartholomea Capitanio and Vincenza Gerosa, the sisters continue her mission with unwavering zeal and enthusiasm for the welfare of neglected individuals. Currently, they are in the process of constructing a new building to enhance facilities with modern amenities.
