Kadaba, Jun 20: In a deeply saddening incident, Prasanna (64), a respected resident of Basavanagudi, Bengaluru and the General Power of Attorney (GPA) holder of Sri Samput Narasimha Swamy Subrahmanya Math, lost his life after reportedly falling from a moving train.
According to sources, Prasanna had recently visited Subrahmanya to engage in critical discussions concerning the Math, especially with respect to ongoing legal matters and a potential reconciliation between the Math and the Subrahmanya temple authorities. He was said to be a key figure in several court proceedings involving the Math.

He boarded the Murudeshwar-Bengaluru Express from Subrahmanya Road Railway Station on Wednesday night, bound for Bengaluru. However, tragedy struck near Naganahalli in the early hours of Thursday, where he is believed to have accidentally fallen off the train at a bend.
When Prasanna failed to arrive home by Thursday morning, concern quickly spread among his family and the Subrahmanya Mutt staff. His phone continued to ring without response, until eventually a stranger answered and informed them about the unfortunate incident.
Upon receiving the news, both his family members and monastery staff rushed to the spot where the body was discovered. The circumstances surrounding his fall have triggered various speculations, though authorities have not confirmed any foul play as of yet.
The sudden demise of Prasanna has left the Subrahmanya Mutt community in deep shock and mourning. His contributions to the institution, particularly in handling its legal affairs, were regarded as pivotal. The incident has also sparked discussions within the temple and Math circles, particularly given the sensitive negotiations he was involved in.
Investigations are ongoing to determine the exact cause of the fall, while prayers pour in for the departed soul.
