Paldane church welcomes Fr Richard Aloysius Coelho as new parish priest

Mangaluru, Jun 21: Fr Richard Aloysius Coelho, who has been appointed as the new parish priest of St Theresa Church, Paldane, officially assumed office on June 20. He previously served as the director of Father Muller Institutions, Kankanady, for the past 17 years.

On his arrival at Paldane church on Friday, he was warmly welcomed by outgoing parish priest Fr Alban D’Souza, City deanery vicar forane Fr James D’Souza, Church vice president Elias Fernandes, secretary Austin Monteiro, Spiritual Committee coordinator Prescilla Fernandes, and other office-bearers.

Following the prayer service and religious rites, the installation ceremony was conducted by City deanery vicar Forane Fr James D’Souza. Outgoing parish priest Fr Alban D’Souza expressed his gratitude for all the cooperation he received during his tenure.

In his address, the new parish priest Fr Richard Aloysius Coelho sought the support and cooperation of the church administration and the faithful in his new pastoral mission. Church vice president Elias Fernandes welcomed everyone and gave a brief introduction of the new parish priest. Secretary of the Parish Council Austin Monteiro and Spiritual Committee coordinator Prescilla Fernandes greeted the priests on the dais with bouquets.

The event was graced by the presence of Fr Faustine Lobo (director of Father Muller Institutions), Fr Ajith Menezes, Fr Jeevan Sequeira, Fr Nelson Pais, Fr Sylvester Lobo, Fr Rudolph Ravi D’Souza, Fr Nilesh Crasta, Fr Ashwin Crasta, Fr John Vas, Dr Antony Sylvan, Dr Uday Kumar, Dr Kiran Shetty, M P Noronha, Naveen D’Souza, Dr Kelvin Pais, and others.
