Mangaluru, Jun 21: Train services were briefly disrupted on Saturday morning after boulders rolled onto the tracks between Yedakumeri and Shiribagilu at around 4:23 am, forcing authorities to halt three trains at nearby stations.

As a precautionary measure, the KSR Bengaluru – Kannur Express (No. 16511) was stopped at Kadagaravalli station, while the Bengaluru – Murdeshwar Express (No. 16585) and Vijayapura – Mangaluru Central Express (No. 07377) were halted at Sakleshpur station.

Railway officials promptly cleared the boulders and debris from the tracks. Train movement resumed on the affected section by 9:10 am, with trains permitted to operate at a restricted speed of 20 km/h. The halted trains have since resumed their journey.

According to a press release from South Western Railway, passengers who had to wait for several hours at the stations were provided with refreshments including breakfast, biscuits, tea, and drinking water.
