Jalna, Jun 22: A government school teacher in Maharashtra’s Jalna district has landed in trouble after a video of him sleeping in the classroom during school hours went viral on Friday.
The incident took place at a Marathi medium zilla parishad school in Gadegavan village, located in Jafrabad tehsil. The school caters to students from Class I to V. In the video, the teacher, identified as VK Munde, is seen reclining with his leg on a desk, apparently asleep, while around 15 to 17 students quietly sit nearby.

The person recording the video is heard asking one of the students how long the teacher had been asleep, to which the child replies, “half an hour.”
Confirming the teacher’s identity, Block Education Officer Satish Shinde said, “Strict action will be taken against the teacher as per departmental rules.” He also stated that a report will be submitted to the district education officer for further action.
The video has sparked criticism over teacher accountability and classroom discipline in rural government schools.
