Mangaluru's Reshel Bretny to receive National Icon Award in Delhi

Mangaluru, Jun 22: Young author and orator from Mangaluru, Reshel Bretny Fernandes, has been selected for the prestigious National Icon Award 2025 (Season 9) in recognition of her literary and social contributions.

The award, presented by the Bharatiya Yuva Welfare Association, New Delhi, is supported by the ministry of tourism, ministry of defence, and other government departments.

Reshel, who has made a mark with her achievements at international and national levels, is known for authoring four impactful books that address key issues in contemporary society. Her work has garnered praise from the offices of the prime minister, president of India, Speaker of Lok Sabha, and several central ministers.

The award ceremony will be held on July 10 at the Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya, New Delhi. Chief guests for the occasion include Ramanath Thakur, MoS, ministry of agriculture and development, government of India; Jagdambika Pal, former minister and chairman of the joint parliamentary committee; and Ramdas Athawale, minister, Government of India.

This latest honour adds another feather to the cap of the accomplished youngster from the coastal city.
