St Mary’s EM School hosts first parent-teacher meeting for grade 10 and senior secondary students

Udupi, Jun 24: St Mary’s English Medium School, Kannarpady, Udupi held the first parent teacher meeting of grade 10 and senior secondary students in J P Tauro Hall on June 23.

The senior secondary meeting started by seeking God’s blessing through a prayer song by the senior secondary staff.

The programme began with a warm welcome by Shruthi D’Souza, setting the tone for a productive discussion. Senior secondary in-charge for science stream Jacquline presented a comprehensive academic overview through a PPT, highlighting key aspects of the curriculum and student performance. She explained about the practical exam and theory exams the assessment process in the school.

The principal, Fr Vijay Joyson D’Souza delivered an important message, emphasizing the importance of parental involvement in their child's education, which included; adhering to school rules and regulations, being actively involved with their ward, encouraging independent decision-making.

Senior secondary in-charge for commerce stream Prathiksha Shetty skillfully moderated the meeting, ensuring a smooth flow of discussions. Poornima Amin proposed a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to parents for their participation. Vice principal Rita Quadros was present during the meeting.

The PTM which provided a valuable opportunity for parents and teachers to engage in meaningful discussions, fostering a collaborative approach to student development.

Grade 10 PTM started by seeking God’s blessing through a prayer song sung by the students’ choir. Vinaya Suvarna delivered the welcome address, warmly greeting the parents and setting a positive tone for the meeting.

Linet Castelino presented a comprehensive PPT on internal assessments, board exams, and expectations from students which included; discipline, personal hygiene, neatness in school work, adherence to grooming standards, usage of good language etc.

The principal emphasized the importance of good conduct and stressed the need for parental control over students' phone and social media usage. The vice principal was also present, adding to the discussions.

Secondary section academic coordinator Amratha Shetty proposed the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to parents for their participation and cooperation. Usha Hegde, anchored the programme by efficiently conducting the proceedings, ensuring a smooth flow of events.

The meeting ended with the School Anthem. The meeting provided a valuable opportunity for parents and teachers to engage in meaningful discussions, fostering a collaborative approach to student development and success.
