Chennai, Jun 28: Director Sriram Venu’s much-anticipated emotional action drama ‘Thammudu’, starring Nithiin in the lead, has been officially cleared for release by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) with an ‘A’ certificate. The film is all set to hit theatres on July 4.

Production banner Sri Venkateswara Creations announced the development on social media, writing on X: “Action, Adventure and Adrenaline-pumping moments. The epic journey of #Thammudu takes a new turn with ‘A’ from Censor. The purpose and promise justifies everything!! #ThammuduOnJuly4th.”

Nithiin also echoed the update, posting: “The epic journey of #Thammudu takes a new turn with ‘A’ from the Censor.”

‘Thammudu’ has generated considerable buzz among fans and film enthusiasts, particularly due to the comeback of actress Laya, who plays the role of Jhansi Kiranmayee. She completed dubbing her portions last week, marking her return to the big screen after a long hiatus.

The film’s teaser, released earlier this month, reveals that Nithiin portrays a skilled archer. The story revolves around a powerful bond between a brother and his sister, centered on keeping a sacred promise. Set in a fictional and mysterious place called Ambaragodugu—a locale with only one entry and exit point—the story unfolds with a sense of tension and entrapment.

The teaser hints that Nithiin’s sister and her child are trapped in Ambaragodugu, with those close to the protagonist urging him to escape.

However, the emotional stakes are clear, culminating in Nithiin’s striking punchline:

"You are considered dead even if you are alive if you can't keep up your word. You are considered alive even if you are dead when you keep your promise."

The cast also includes Sapthami Gowda, Saurabh Sachdeva, Swasika, Hari Teja, Srikanth Iyyengar, Temper Vamshi, Chammak Chandra, and Varsha Bollamma.

Produced by Raju and Shirish, the film features music by B. Ajaneesh Loknath, with cinematography by K.V. Guhan, Sameer Reddy, and Setu. Sh Prawin Pudi handles editing, while G. M. Sekhar leads the art direction. The action sequences are crafted by Vikram Mor, Real Satish, Ravi Verma, and Ram Krishan.

With its blend of intense drama, action, and emotion, ‘Thammudu’ promises to deliver a gripping cinematic experience when it releases next week.
