Mangaluru, Jun 30: CODP, under the esteemed custodianship of bishop of Mangalore, Dr Peter Paul Saldanha, distributed scholarships worth Rs 10 lacs to 160 deserving students on June 30.
The recipients were selected from a pool of applicants based on their intelligence and financial need, showcasing CODP's commitment to supporting meritorious students through its charitable initiatives.
The programme commenced with a prayer led by the CODP staff. Fr Vincent D’Souza, the secretary CODP welcomed the bishop.


























Bishop Dr Peter Paul Saldanha presented scholarship cheques to deserving students, emphasising the importance of education. "Without education, life would be miserable," he said. "Education contributes significantly to both societal progress and individual development. The enlightenment it brings helps build a healthy, progressive society," he added.
The bishop also highlighted the diocese of Mangalore's substantial contributions to society through education, healthcare, and development initiatives.
During the programme Fr Lawrence Cutinha, assistant director of CODP, parents representative Florine D’Souza, Mogarnad and students representative Jovita D’Costa, Nala; Lanwin Vas, Shirthday were presented on the dais.
The programme was compered by Veena D’Souza and Nikitha Fernandes proposed the vote of thanks.
Praveen Crasta, Anisha Fernandes and the associate staff of CODP helped to arrange the programme successfully.
