Freemasons of Mangalore mark universal Brotherhood Day with message of charity and unity

Mangaluru, Jul 1: Freemason Lodges of Mangalore celebrated Universal Brotherhood Day on Sunday, June 29th at Mangalore Club. The event convened by Palli Sadananda Shetty aims to promote understanding and camaraderie within the fraternity and offer the public an opportunity to learn more about Freemasonry.

Universal Brotherhood Day, traditionally observed around June 24th to coincide with the Summer Solstice, the feast of St John the Baptist, and the founding of the United Grand Lodge of England in 1717, serves to strengthen bonds within the Masonic fraternity.

charitable trust regularly supports various charities and on this occasion two oxygen concentrators were gifted to Govt Wenlock hospital.

Dr A G Jayakrishnan chairman of Mangalore Masonic Charitable Trust informed that financial support is also being extended to various other charitable organisations on a regular basis.

The event was attended by a large number of Masons and distinguished guests.

The former grand master of the Regional Grand lodge of India Capt Dr Balaram Biswakumar and Bharath Bhushan, former chief secretary of Govt of Kerala were the distinguished speakers.
