Mumbai, Jul 3: In a tragic incident, a 14-year-old boy allegedly died by suicide in Mumbai’s Kandivali area after his mother urged him to attend tuition classes, police said on Thursday.

The boy, Pant Aarti Makwana, reportedly jumped from the Brooke building on Wednesday evening. According to police, his mother had asked him to go for tuition around 7 pm, but he seemed unwilling. Believing he had gone for class after persistent reminders, she was later informed by the building's watchman that her son had fallen from the building.

He was found lying in a pool of blood and was rushed to the hospital, where he was declared dead.

An Accidental Death Report (ADR) has been filed, and the body has been sent for post-mortem. Police said the family’s statement does not raise suspicion, but a detailed investigation is underway.
