Adani group highlights solar push, powering villages with renewable energy

Ahmedabad, Jul 8: The Adani Group has unveiled a powerful new campaign showcasing its ambitious efforts to transform India’s energy landscape through solar power and electrification of rural areas. The advertisement, released on Tuesday, carries a strong message of progress and sustainability.

“In our actions sit the promises we make... to bring the sun home to every village,” said Gautam Adani, chairman of Adani Group, in a post on X, using the tagline: Hum Karke Dikhate Hain.

The campaign comes at a time when Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL), the renewable arm of the group, has achieved a record 15,539.9 MW of operational capacity — the largest and fastest capacity addition by any renewable energy company in India.

The company’s clean energy portfolio includes 11,005.5 MW from solar, 1,977.8 MW from wind, and 2,556.6 MW from hybrid wind-solar sources. This capacity can power nearly 7.9 million homes and electrify thirteen Indian states, including the entire northeast.

Marking its 10th anniversary, AGEL is also developing the world’s largest renewable energy plant — a 30,000 MW mega project in Khavda, Kutch, Gujarat, spread across 538 sq km, an area five times the size of Paris. Already, 5,355.9 MW has been commissioned at the site.

Once fully operational, the Khavda plant will become the world’s largest power station across all energy sources, reinforcing India’s push to achieve 500 GW of non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030.
