Sullia: Locals Thrash Abduction-accused on Bail

Sullia, Jan 30: A person named Aluraiah from Mandya district was beaten up by some people from the town, when he came here on Sunday January 29. They also warned him to leave the town for good. Aluraiah was here to register his attendance at the local police station in tune with the bail conditions.

Aluraiah, who was working as librarian in the government degree college here, has been accused of trying to abduct a lecturer. He was arrested in this connection from Maddur in Mandya district. He secured bail and visited the town on Sunday.

It is said that he was beaten up by the relatives of five other persons from the town, who are accused of having helped Aluraiah for this abduction, and were arrested. They were angry that the others involved with the crime failed to get bail, although Aluraiah succeeded in getting it.

Police personnel from the station rushed to the spot after getting information about the incident, and brought Aluraiah to the police station after rescuing him.
