Satara, Jul 11: A dangerous stunt meant for a social media reel turned into a near-fatal accident after a car plunged into a 300-foot gorge at Sadawaghapur, a popular tourist hilltop in Maharashtra.
The incident occurred when 20-year-old Sahil Jadhav and four of his friends attempted to film a daring reverse-spin stunt in a Hyundai Venue. With the camera rolling, Sahil reversed the car near the edge of the cliff in an attempt to impress — but within just six seconds, the vehicle lost control, skidded, and plunged into the valley below.
Shocked screams were heard in the video before it abruptly stopped. While Sahil miraculously survived the fall, he sustained serious injuries and is currently undergoing treatment.
The incident has raised fresh concerns over the growing trend of risky stunts for social media content. Police have registered a case and launched an investigation.
Sadawaghapur, known for its scenic views, has now become the site of a stark reminder: one wrong move for a few seconds of fame can have life-altering consequences.
