Calangute, Jul 14: A business dispute between two former tattoo artists took a violent turn in the early hours of Sunday, leaving one person seriously injured in a knife attack at Khobra Vaddo.

The victim, identified as Arun Lamani, sustained stab injuries to his face and stomach. He has been admitted to Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMC) for treatment.

According to Calangute Police, the accused, Akash Lamani, is absconding following the attack. The altercation reportedly stemmed from a fallout in their previous tattoo business partnership. Arun had later started his own venture at a separate location.

Around 1:30 am on Sunday, Akash called Arun for a meeting near JJ Bakery, allegedly to discuss pending financial matters related to their former business. The conversation soon escalated into a heated argument, during which Akash allegedly stabbed Arun with a pen knife before fleeing the spot.

A case has been registered, and police have launched a manhunt to trace the accused. Further investigation is underway.
