Mangaluru: Woman alleges sexual abuse; husband & Kavoor cop held following complaint

Mangaluru, July 16: In a shocking incident that has come to light from the jurisdiction of Kankanady Town police station, a woman has lodged a complaint alleging sexual exploitation by her husband and a police constable.

According to sources, on July 15, a woman appeared at the Kankanady Town police station and submitted a written complaint stating that her husband allegedly forced her to have physical relations with another man in exchange for money.

The complainant further alleged that her husband recorded a video of the act and threatened to circulate it on social media if she refused to engage in similar acts with others.

Disturbed by the situation, the woman reportedly approached constable Chandranayak, known to her and posted at Kavoor police station, seeking help.

Chandranayak allegedly visited her house and deleted the photos and videos from her husband’s mobile phone. However, in a shocking turn of events, the constable, reportedly under the instigation of the woman’s husband, is said to have coerced her into sexual relations against her will.

Following the complaint, a case has been registered at the Kankanady Town police station, and both the woman’s husband and police constable Chandranayak have been arrested. Investigation into the matter is ongoing.
