Pune, July 20: In a disturbing incident from the Dhankawadi area of Pune, a 45-year-old astrologer, Akhilesh Laxman Rajguru, has been arrested for allegedly molesting a 25-year-old woman who had visited his office seeking astrological guidance for her brother.

According to police reports, the woman, a law student, initially visited Rajguru’s office with her brother’s horoscope. The astrologer later asked her to return alone to collect a ritual object and a mantra.

Following her complaint, Pune police registered a case under sections 74 and 78 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, which pertain to outraging the modesty of a woman and stalking, respectively. Provisions of the Maharashtra Black Magic Act were also invoked due to the nature of the alleged manipulation involved.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Milind Mohite confirmed the arrest and stated that further investigation is underway. The accused is expected to be produced before the court soon.
