South Goa DM warns of stern action against quarry, waterfall trespassers

Margao, Jul 21: South Goa District Magistrate Egna Cletus, IAS, on Friday chaired a review meeting on law and order, directing strict enforcement against individuals entering waterfalls or abandoned stone quarries in violation of official orders.

During the meeting, the DM instructed police and talathis to take firm action and intensify weekend patrolling in these high-risk zones. She confirmed that two cases have already been registered against violators.

The review also covered preparations for the upcoming Saptah festival in Vasco and Independence Day celebrations, ensuring security measures are in place.

The District Magistrate further noted that compliance with High Court directives regarding banner bullfights and sand mining in the region was also assessed during the meeting.
