Bengaluru, Jul 21: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday issued a forecast predicting heavy rainfall in parts of Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, and Uttara Kannada districts over the next 24 hours.
Udupi district recorded the highest rainfall on Sunday, with Hangaluru receiving 92 mm of rain. Gadag district recorded 77.1 mm, the highest so far in the month of July, the department stated.
Previously, Gadag received 89.7 mm of rain in 2005 and 87.1 mm in 2022. The all-time highest rainfall in the district was recorded on September 29, 1960, at 136.4 mm.

In Bengaluru, the Greater Bengaluru region is expected to receive 4 to 10 mm of rainfall on Monday. On Sunday, the city recorded 6.5 mm of rain.
In Udupi district, Renjal received 73.5 mm and Hakladi recorded 70 mm of rain on Sunday, both crossing the 70 mm mark.
The IMD has also issued a warning for heavy rainfall in parts of the northern interior districts including Bidar, Kalaburagi, Raichur, and Yadgir.
Similarly, the southern interior districts of Chikkamagaluru, Kodagu, Hassan, Shivamogga, Mandya, Mysuru, Chamarajanagar, Ballari, Chikkaballapur, Chitradurga, Davanagere, Kolar, and Vijayanagara are likely to experience heavy rainfall in certain areas, the IMD has cautioned.
