Chennai, Jul 21: The countdown to the much-anticipated Dhanush starrer Idly Kadai has officially begun. The makers announced on Monday that the first single from the action-packed entertainer will be released on July 27, setting the stage for a musical prelude to the film’s grand release on October 1.
Production house Dawn Pictures took to X (formerly Twitter) to share the update:

"Time to hit the drums, the celebration begins on 27th July. #IdlyKadai - First single loading. A @gvprakash Musical. Worldwide in Cinemas from October 1."

Dhanush himself shared the announcement with a new poster, adding, “Idli kadai first single update.” The film marks a notable milestone, with Dhanush not only starring but also directing.

Originally slated for an April 10 release, Idly Kadai was postponed to allow more time for post-production and promotional buildup. Shooting wrapped in April, with a key sequence filmed in Bangkok featuring the ensemble cast.

Adding to the excitement is the casting of Arun Vijay as the antagonist, promising an intense showdown with Dhanush. Shalini Pandey has also been confirmed to play a crucial role, putting to rest speculation surrounding her involvement.

The film features Nithya Menen in the lead alongside Dhanush, and boasts a powerful technical crew including Kiran Koushik on cinematography and G.V. Prakash Kumar composing the music. The film is jointly produced by Wunderbar Films and Dawn Pictures.

With high expectations from fans and cinephiles alike, Idly Kadai is shaping up to be one of the most awaited Tamil releases of 2025.
