Beltangady, Feb 1: It is gathered that Sarsangh Chalak of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Mohan Bhagwath, faced a barrage of questions from local leaders on the failure of RSS in meeting its years-old assurance of rebuilding Lord Rama temple on Ayodhya. The questions were posed at the RSS Baithak held at Venoor in the taluk during the visit of Bhagwath on the occasion of Mahamastakabhishela of Lord Bahubali statue there on Tuesday January 31.

Many participants drew the attention of the RSS leadership towards the worrying development of dwindling population of Hindus in Kashmir. “The Sangh repeatedly states that unity is its policy. Is not importance to achieve unification of Kashmir?” many questioned, it is said.

While many questions centred on the recent happenings in the Sangh, no one raised any political issue. Bhagwath said he had come here at the invitation of the Mahamastakabhisheka Organizing Committee.

In his address thereafter, Bhagwath laid stress on achieving the unity of Hindus, and deliberated on the mammoth show of strength organized by RSS at Hubli recently.

Earlier, on his arrival in Venoor at the house of Mittottu Krishna Bhat from Udupi, he was accorded a warm welcome. After the district level Baithak, Bhagwath took part in the religious meeting organized in connection with Mahamastakabhisheka.  He watched Agrodaka procession, before reaching the hill where the statue is installed. He was the first in the day to pour water on the statue.

Bhagwath was accompanied by South Central India Pracharak of RSS, Mangesh Bhende, and other RSS leaders like Su Ramanna, Dinesh Kamath, Da Ma Ravindra, Dr Prabhakar Bhat Kalladka, Kajampady Subrahmanya Bhat, Chandrashekhar Kedilaya, Chandrashekhar Bhandary etc. He stayed for the night at Mittottu, and is scheduled to leave by air for Mumbai from Mangalore today.
