Poster of three-day film festival by Niranthar Udyavar released

Udupi, July 23: As part of the 8th anniversary celebrations of Niranthar Udyavar, the poster of Niranthar Cinema Utsava 2025—a three-day film festival showcasing award-winning Kannada films with strong social messages—was released at Anugraha Pastoral Centre. The event is supported by Syndicate Credit Souharda Co-operative Society Ltd., Udupi.

The Bishop of the Diocese of Udupi, Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo, unveiled the poster and lauded Niranthar’s consistent efforts in promoting art and literature in the district. He extended his best wishes for the initiative.

The film festival will be held from August 8 to 10 at Ave Maria Hall, within the premises of Mother of Sorrows Church, Udupi. Screenings will begin each day at 6:30 pm. Entry is free. The selected Kannada films—Act 1978, 19.20.21, and Photo—are acclaimed for their social relevance and critical recognition.

The event was attended by Vision Konkani founder and promoter Michael D’Souza, social communication commission director Fr Denis D'Sa, Dr Eugene D’Souza Moodubelle, Bellevision.com promoter Elias D’Souza, Kittall.com editor H M Pernal, Niranthar Udyavar president Roshan Crasta, secretary Olivera Mathias, founding president Steevan Colaco, and Syndicate Souharda Co-operative Society founder Jeevan D’Souza, among others.
