Panaji, Jul 24: Goa Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant on Tuesday confirmed that the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 will be fully implemented in all schools across the state by the year 2028.
In a written reply presented during the ongoing Assembly session, CM Sawant — who also holds the Education portfolio — informed the House that NEP 2020 has already been introduced at the undergraduate level in all non-technical colleges of Goa.
Sawant further stated that the implementation of NEP in higher education is progressing in line with the directives issued by the Ministry of Education, University Grants Commission (UGC), NITI Aayog, and the recommendations from the Chief Secretaries' Conference held at Dharamshala.
To prepare the ground for school-level implementation, block-level training programmes for teachers have been conducted, focusing on essential areas highlighted in the policy. The Chief Minister reiterated his government’s commitment to transforming Goa's education system in accordance with NEP 2020 guidelines.
