Kadaba, Jul 26: The body of an ambulance driver from Subramanya hospital, who had gone missing a few days ago, was found on Friday, July 25 in the Kumaradhara river.

The deceased has been identified as Honnappa (52), a resident of Devaragadde in Subramanya.

Honnappa had been missing since July 22. CCTV footage had captured him running towards the Kumaradhara river, leading to suspicions that he might have jumped into the river. Based on this, search operations were launched in the river from that night itself.

From July 23, teams from the SDRF, Eshwar Malpe team, a group of ambulance drivers, the Ravi Kakkepadavu team, fire department personnel from Sullia, and local residents actively conducted a search operation.

After relentless efforts, on the fourth day—Friday—Honnappa’s body was discovered a few kilometres downstream from the Kumaradhara bathing ghat.

A case has been registered at the Subramanya police station.
