Congress leaders pay rich tribute to late Bantwal councillor Janardhana Chandthimar

Bantwal, July 26: A solemn tribute programme was held on Saturday evening at Ambedkar Bhavan, B C Road, in honour of the late Janardhana Chandthimar, a respected member of the Bantwal Town Municipal Council, who passed away recently. The event was jointly organised by the Bantwal and Panemangalore Block Congress Committees.

Several senior Congress leaders, local representatives, and party workers gathered to pay their final respects to the late councillor, who was remembered for his dedicated public service and commitment to the party.

Former minister B Ramanath Rai, speaking at the event, recalled Chandthimar's grassroots connection and contributions to the development of the region. Also present were KPCC secretary Pius L Rodrigues, former Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayat members Chandraprakash Shetty (Tumbe) and Padmashekhar Jain, Mani Grama Panchayat president Sudeep Kumar Shetty, and Bantwal municipal councillors Sadashiva Bangera and Ramakrishna Alva.

Panemangalore Block Congress president Chandrashekhar Bhandary, former president B M Abbas Ali, Bantwal TMC president Vasu Poojary, BUDA president Baby Kundar, and District Youth Congress president Ibrahim Nawaz Badakabail were among those who offered floral tributes and shared words of remembrance.

The gathering also saw heartfelt messages from key party figures including Padmaraj R Poojary, Chittaranjan Shetty (Bondala), advocate Shailaja, and K Padmanabha Rai, who each reflected on Chandthimar’s role in strengthening the party at the local level.

A host of party workers and supporters were also in attendance to honour the late leader’s legacy. Among them were Mohammad Nandavar, Albert Menezes, Siraj Madaka, Hameed Kaikamba, Venkappa Poojary, Yusuf Karandadi, Razak Kukkaje, N Abdul Kareem (Bollai), and advocate Suresh Kumar (Navoor).
