Kasargod, Jul 26: In a sensational case that has sent shockwaves across social media circles, popular YouTuber 'Salu King' has been arrested by Kozhikode's Koyilandy police on charges of sexually assaulting a minor girl under the pretext of marriage.

The accused, Mohammad Sali (35), hailing from Cheppinadka, near Kodiyamma in Kasargod, was nabbed at the Mangaluru International Airport upon his arrival from abroad on Saturday morning. Acting on a Look Out Circular (LOC), immigration officials intercepted Sali and handed him over to the Kerala police.

Sali, known for running multiple social media channels such as Salu King Media, Salu King Vlogs, and Salu King Family, had been active for over seven years. Reports indicate that though married in 2016 and father to three children, he allegedly lured a 15-year-old girl into a relationship through Instagram and Snapchat, promising to marry her. He is then said to have committed sexual assault.

After a complaint was filed, the POCSO Act was invoked and a manhunt was launched. The accused had reportedly fled abroad to evade arrest.

Following his detention at the airport, Koyilandy police took Sali into custody. He is expected to be produced before a magistrate, and further investigations are underway.
