Pilgrims of hope gather in prayer – Night vigil at St Lawrence Church & Shrine, Bondel

Mangaluru, Jul 28: In preparation for the annual feast of St Lawrence, a night vigil was held at St Lawrence Church and Shrine, Bondel. The vigil began at 6 pm on July 26 and continued until 6 am on July 27. At 4 pm, the Kripa Abhishekha Prayer Group led a vibrant session of praise and worship. Their joyful singing set a spiritual tone for the night ahead.

At 5 pm, holy Mass and Eucharistic adoration were led by Fr Franklin D’Souza from the diocese of pilgrims of Hope Gather in prayer – night vigil at St Lawrence Church & Shrine, Bondel

In preparation for the annual feast of St Lawrence, a night vigil was held at St Lawrence Church and shrine, Bondel. The vigil began at 6 p.m. on July 26 and continued until 6 am on July 27. At 4 pm, the Kripa Abhishekha Prayer Group led a vibrant session of praise and worship. Their joyful singing set a spiritual tone for the night ahead.

At 5 pm, holy Mass and Eucharistic adoration were led by Fr Franklin D’Souza from the Diocese of Shimoga. He preached on the grace of Ggod, saying, “If you believe and have faith, nothing is impossible for god.” He invited the faithful to repent and believe in the Gospel. After Mass, Fr Franklin led healing prayers during adoration. Special prayers were offered for the sick, elderly, and those in pain. Many felt peace, healing, and the touch of God’s Spirit.

Br Prashant Frank from Kripa Abhishekha Prayer Group shared his testimony. He spoke of his call to the preaching ministry. His team works to spread god’s word and bring youth closer to Jesus. He emphasised prayer, obedience, and listening to god’s voice.The Kripa Abhishekha Prayer Group led the session with beautiful hymns that touched the soul.

Fr Abraham SVD reflected on the life of St Lawrence. He spoke of the saint’s service, humility, and love for the poor. Fr Abraham highlighted St Lawrence’s courage and devotion till his martyrdom. He reminded everyone to live with prayer, compassion, and sacrifice.

Br Prakash from the Divine Mercy Prayer Group, Bandra, led a session of adoration and healing. He reflected on Psalm 121, encouraging trust in god. He led the Divine Mercy Chaplet with deep devotion. His words on the power of Scripture inspired and uplifted many.

Fr Harry D’Souza, spiritual director of the Minor Seminary, Jeppu, shared a touching message. He spoke about the power of prayer and worship. His session included devotional bhajans that moved hearts. He reminded the faithful to praise God with simplicity and love.

The night vigil concluded with the holy Mass at 5:45 am celebrated by Fr Harry and concelebrated by Fr Andrew Leo D’Souza.

After the Mass, the devotees received the sacrament of the anointing. Fr Andrew thanked all for their prayerful participation. He also expressed gratitude to the organizers, prayer groups, and volunteers.

The vigil ended in peace and joy. Hearts were renewed. Souls were strengthened. It was truly a night of grace, healing, and hope.
