M'lore: National Conference from Feb 3 to Mark 20th Anniversary of Fr Muller PG Course

Mangalore, Feb 1: “A unique national conference ‘Medicine Update 2012’ will be organized by Fr Muller Medical College to commemorate 20 years of post graduate medical education at the Decennial Hall of Fr Muller Medical Hospital from Friday February 3 to Sunday February 5,” said Dr H Prabhakar at a press conference here on Wednesday February 1.
 
He added that eminent faculty of international and national repute will be the resource persons. Delegates from various medical colleges from all over India will be participating to upgrade their medical knowledge and clinical skills.
 
“This is a unique conference and live case discussions, interactive sessions, quizzes, and puzzles will be included. The pre-conference workshop on Friday February 3 will have sessions on clinical radiology and critical care medicine. Justice N Santhosh Hegde, former Lokayukta will inaugurate the scientific session. Keynote address will be delivered by Dr Anil D’Cruz, director, Tata Memorial Cancer Institute, Mumbai. During the inaugural programme Dr Kedila Sundara Bhat and Dr Narasimha Hegde, professors of medicine, will be felicitated for their 25 continuous years of service at Fr Muller Charitable Institutions,” added Dr Prabhakar.
 
He further informed that on Friday, topics like radio-diagnosis and imaging, critical care symposium, will be held while on Saturday February 4 topics like basic clinical lectures, respiratory medicine, cases in abdomen, hematology, cardiology, endocrinology will be discussed. On Sunday February 5 basic medicine clinics, clinical medicine, ECG workshop, rheumatology, and neurology will be discussed.
 
Fr Denis D’Sa, administrator, FMMC, Dr Roshan M, secretary, Dr Peter George, convenor, and Dr Venkatesha BM, treasurer, were present at the press meet.
