PM Modi defends Operation Sindoor, slams Congress-Pakistan links

New Delhi, Jul 29: Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a forceful address in a special Parliament session on national security, accusing the Congress party of echoing Pakistan's narratives and lacking a clear stance on terrorism.

“Congress has now reached a point where it must import its agenda from Pakistan,” he said, launching a direct political attack during discussions on the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack and India’s military response—Operation Sindoor.

Modi emphasized that Operation Sindoor, launched in retaliation, remains ongoing and warned that any future provocations from Pakistan would invite a strong and immediate response.

“On the night of May 9, our missiles hit targets deep inside Pakistan—areas they never thought vulnerable. We struck at the navel of terrorism,” the PM declared, describing the mission as a turning point in India’s counterterrorism strategy.

He compared the operation’s precision and intent to the 2019 Balakot airstrikes, highlighting India’s evolving military doctrine: swift, targeted, and unapologetic.

“We achieved 100% of our goals. This was a message not just to the terrorists, but to their sponsors too,” he stated.

The Prime Minister said the operation was executed with strategic coordination between the Defence Ministry and the armed forces. He stressed that India acted on its own terms, without pressure from foreign governments.

“No international leader told us to stop. Our decision was sovereign, and our strategy was clear,” he asserted.

In a vivid moment, Modi shared intelligence reports of stunned Pakistani civilians caught unaware: “People were bathing, heading to work—our strike hit before they could react.”

Modi closed with a sharp message: India’s new doctrine makes no distinction between terrorists and their enablers, and nuclear threats from across the border will no longer hold India back.

As the Lok Sabha session continued, opposition parties responded with skepticism, questioning gaps in intelligence and the government’s readiness prior to the April attack. However, the Prime Minister’s assertive tone made it clear—India’s posture on national security is undergoing a bold transformation.
