Shivpuri, Jul 30: A pall of gloom descended over Malbarve village in Madhya Pradesh's Shivpuri district after two minor siblings tragically lost their lives, and their parents were left battling for survival following the suspected inhalation of toxic fumes from pesticide-treated wheat stored inside their home.
According to police sources, the incident occurred late Monday night in the Pohri police station limits. The victims, identified as Adhik (3) and Manvi (5), were found unresponsive after spending the night in a room where a stockpile of wheat grains, recently treated with pesticides, had been kept.

Bhatnawar outpost in-charge Seema Dhakad confirmed that the family — Giriraj Dhakad (30), his wife Poonam (28), and their two children — were all asleep in the same room when the incident occurred.
"The children, unfortunately, succumbed to what appears to be poisonous gas exposure from the pesticide-laced wheat. Their parents were rushed to the district hospital and are currently in a critical condition," she informed Daijiworld.
Authorities have conducted post-mortems on the deceased children, and the exact cause of death will be confirmed following the report, officials added.
A case has been registered, and further investigations are underway to ascertain the source and type of pesticide used.
This tragic incident has sent shockwaves through the local community, with villagers expressing grief over the heartbreaking loss.
