Rishab Shetty to make Telugu debut with Sithara Entertainment’s rebel saga

Chennai, Jul 30: Kantara star Rishab Shetty is all set to make his Telugu debut as the lead in Sithara Entertainment’s upcoming project, tentatively titled Production No. 36. The film will be helmed by Ashwin Gangaraju, known for Aakashavaani, and co-produced by Fortune Four Cinemas.

Announcing the project on X (formerly Twitter), Sithara Entertainment teased a high-octane, possibly historical action drama with the tagline:

“Not all rebels are forged in battle. Some are chosen by destiny. And this is that story of a rebel.”

The first-look poster features a cannon surrounded by bayonets, suggesting an epic period setting. With the phrase "The land burned, a rebel rose", speculation is rife that the story might unfold in 18th-century Bengal, pointing toward a revolutionary backdrop.

This marks a major milestone for Shetty, whose pan-India fame skyrocketed with Kantara. Fresh off completing the shoot for Kantara: Chapter 1, a prequel to the blockbuster hit, Shetty now ventures into the Telugu film industry with what promises to be another intense and culturally rich narrative.

The announcement also comes just a day before Sithara Entertainment's high-profile release Kingdom, starring Vijay Deverakonda, adding to the production house's current momentum.

About the Director:

Ashwin Gangaraju gained attention with Aakashavaani, a film that premiered directly on OTT due to the pandemic. Now, he’s teaming up with a pan-Indian star for what could be his most ambitious project yet.

With this powerful collaboration, audiences can expect a gritty, visually striking rebel tale, steeped in history and packed with action.
