Gurugram, Aug 3: A 40-year-old scrap dealer was allegedly stabbed to death by his live-in partner in Gurugram's DLF Phase 3 area early Saturday following a heated argument over him talking to his ailing wife, police said.

The deceased, Harish Sharma, hailed from Baliawas village and had been in a live-in relationship for over a year with 27-year-old Yashmeet Kaur, a resident of Ashok Nagar in Delhi. The couple lived together in a rented flat.

According to police, Sharma, though married and father to two daughters, maintained regular contact with his wife who has been unwell for some time. This reportedly led to frequent quarrels with Kaur, who grew increasingly upset about his continued communication with his spouse.

On Saturday, when Kaur saw Sharma speaking to his wife over the phone, a major altercation broke out. In a fit of rage, she allegedly grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed him in the chest. Though Sharma was rushed to a nearby hospital, he was declared dead on arrival.

Police revealed that a friend of the victim, Vijay alias Sethi, was also in the flat at the time of the incident. Sharma's nephew, in his complaint, alleged that both Kaur and Vijay had conspired to murder his uncle.

Kaur has been arrested and has confessed to the crime during interrogation. Authorities have also recovered the murder weapon and a blood-stained T-shirt from the crime scene. Vijay is currently under the scanner as investigations continue.
