Mollem, Aug 5: Goa Police on Tuesday intercepted an Innova vehicle at the Mollem check post and seized around 600 kilograms of raw cow and buffalo meat being transported without proper documentation.

The vehicle, reportedly owned by Asif Chowdary, was stopped during routine checks. Upon inspection, officials discovered a large quantity of raw meat stored in the vehicle under questionable conditions.

The driver has been taken into custody, and an investigation is underway to verify the source, destination, and legality of the meat being transported.

Authorities are expected to file charges based on violations of transport, health safety, or animal slaughter regulations depending on the findings.

Further action will follow after laboratory testing and verification from veterinary and food safety departments.
