Ankara, Aug 8: Turkey on Friday called on the international community to step in and block Israel’s reported plan to take control of Gaza City, describing the move as a "heavy blow" to regional peace and security.
In a strongly worded statement, the Turkish foreign ministry said, “We call on the international community to fulfill its responsibilities to prevent the implementation of this decision, which aims to forcibly displace Palestinians from their own land.”

Ankara’s statement adds to growing international concern over the humanitarian and political implications of Israel’s actions in Gaza.
