Tehran, Aug 9: Iran’s foreign ministry on Friday strongly condemned Israel’s updated war plan that includes taking control of Gaza City, accusing it of aiming to “ethnically cleanse” the Palestinian territory.
Foreign ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei said in a statement that the plan “is another clear sign of the Zionist regime's specific intention to ethnically cleanse Gaza and commit genocide against the Palestinians.”
The remarks come amid heightened tensions in the region following continued Israeli military operations in Gaza.
