Bantwal: Man Knocked Down by Train

Bantwal, Feb 3: A youth was knocked down by a train on the tracks near Poorlippady near Kalladka in the taluk on the night of Wednesday February 2. His body was found near the tracks on Thursday morning.

The victim has been identified as Santosh (26), son of Sheenappa Poojary, from Goltamajalu village. On Wednesday night, he had left home after dinner, on the pretext of visiting the local town. He had not back thereafter, and his family members were waiting for him.

The railway policemen said that Santosh’s death was caused due to his having been hit by a speeding train. It is not known whether it was a case of suicide or accident.
