Byndoor, Aug 9: In a shocking development, the mysterious death of Natesh, a Kollur resident and snacks vendor near the temple parking zone, has taken a grim turn with allegations of suicide surfacing.

Natesh was earlier believed to have accidentally drowned in the Souparnika River on the morning of August 7, while bathing. However, a formal complaint lodged by his relative, Madhukar, claims that Natesh deliberately jumped into the river, driven by despair.

Police sources said Natesh’s car was discovered parked by the riverbank, its key still in the ignition. The vehicle was later moved to his residence.

On August 8 morning, family members found his mobile phone and a small handwritten note inside the car. The note carried his phone’s password and a chilling message that the reason behind his death could be found in the device’s gallery.

Upon checking, a video emerged in which Natesh allegedly accused two individuals – Santosh alias ‘Santu’ and Nagesh alias ‘Dali-Nag’ – of spreading malicious rumours about him. In the video, he stated that the mental anguish caused by this harassment had pushed him to take his own life.

Based on the complaint, Kollur police have registered a case naming the two accused. Investigations are underway to uncover the full sequence of events leading to the tragedy.
