Mumbai, Aug 11: The drama between CM Punk and Paul Heyman reached new heights at WrestleMania 41 when Seth Rollins cashed in his Money in the Bank contract to snatch the World Heavyweight Championship from Punk, ending any remaining friendship between the two. Heyman, now aligned with Rollins, stood on the opposite side of the rivalry but didn’t hold back praise for Punk’s brief reign after defeating Gunther.
Reflecting on Punk’s first WrestleMania main event in 2014, Heyman told the Ariel Helwani Show, “You made it, and you did it on your own terms. This isn’t charity or politics. You earned it. I’m proud of you, and I’m glad we got to walk out there together.”
Heyman also praised the three top stars of that era—Punk, Rollins, and Roman Reigns—calling their performances brilliant and deserving of the grand stage.
Meanwhile, Punk warned Heyman of upcoming “receipts” and revenge for the betrayal, expressing that the mental pain caused by Heyman siding with Rollins hurt more than physical injuries. “I almost wish he’d stuck with Roman because going with Seth was the real pain,” Punk said.
The tense rivalry shows no signs of cooling down as WrestleMania fallout continues to shake the WWE universe.
