McGuire, who represents Virginia’s 5th congressional district, confirmed the incident in a post on X, expressing his “thoughts and prayers” for the injured deputies and their families. “We are closely following the situation and keeping everyone affected in our hearts during this difficult time,” he wrote.

Visuals from the scene depicted a heavy presence of police and emergency response vehicles, underscoring the gravity of the incident.
