New Delhi, Aug 17: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday announced that Maharashtra Governor CP Radhakrishnan will be the National Democratic Alliance’s (NDA) candidate for the post of Vice President of India.
Making the announcement in New Delhi, BJP national president JP Nadda described Radhakrishnan as one of the party’s senior-most leaders from Tamil Nadu, with over four decades of political experience.

“He has served the nation in various capacities – as the Governor of Jharkhand, Governor of Maharashtra, and as a two-term Member of Parliament from Coimbatore. In his 40 years of political life, he has worn many hats and contributed immensely to public life,” Nadda said.
Radhakrishnan, considered a respected leader within the party and admired for his organisational skills, is set to be the NDA’s face for the constitutional post.
