Chennai, Aug 5: The makers of director-actor Naveen Hidhayath's upcoming Tamil film Moodar Koodam 2 on Wednesday unveiled the film's first-look poster, offering fans a glimpse of the much-awaited sequel to the 2013 dark comedy hit.

Sharing the poster on social media, production house Grandel Pictures wrote: "The fools (have) gathered again. #MoodarKoodam2 #MISSIONPOSSIBLE. Stay tuned till 5:55 PM - We have more to come (Tamil & Telugu Release)."

According to sources close to the production, the story of Moodar Koodam 2 begins from where the first film ended, making it a direct sequel.

The film has been extensively shot across Europe, with key sequences filmed in Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Croatia, Slovenia and Kazakhstan. The team reportedly spent nearly 60 to 70 days shooting across these locations to capture visually striking landscapes.

Sources said the sequel blends dark humour with high-octane action and fantasy elements, drawing inspiration from the style of the Mission: Impossible franchise while retaining the essence of the original film.

Produced by Kamal Bohra and Samkit Bohra under the Grandel Pictures banner, the film features animation and visual effects handled by a US-based team that has previously worked on Disney productions.

Besides Naveen Hidhayath, the film stars Oviya, Senrayan, Rajaji, Kuberan and Jayaprakash in prominent roles.

The cinematography is by Sooraj Nallusami. Songs have been composed by Amrish and Natarajan Sankaran, while Natarajan Sankaran has also scored the background music. Editing is by Athiappan Siva and action choreography has been handled by Mahesh Mathew and Nomad Stunts.
