Four arrested for knife attack on pay-parking staff in Mapusa

Mapusa, Aug 29: In a shocking incident reported on Ganesh Chaturthi day, two employees at a private pay-parking facility in Morod, Mapusa, were brutally attacked by a group of five men on Wednesday morning.

According to police sources, the clash broke out around 11 am after a dispute over improper parking. When employee Sandeep Kumar asked one of the men to park his two-wheeler properly, the accused allegedly struck him on the head with a car key before calling his accomplices. Together, the group launched a violent assault.

When fellow staffer Prakash Talwar intervened, he was stabbed in the stomach with a knife. Both victims sustained serious injuries and were rushed to Mapusa District Hospital for treatment.

Police have registered a case of attempt to murder and arrested four accused identified as Bhuvan Govekar (18), Dashrath Govekar (25), Rupsai Arondekar (18), and Aniket Shirodkar (18). One more suspect involved in the attack remains absconding.

The investigation is ongoing, and efforts are underway to trace the fifth accused.
