Dubai, Sep 1: The UAE’s Fuel Price Committee has announced the revised fuel rates for September 2025, with minor increases in petrol categories and a notable reduction in diesel prices. The new rates, effective from Sunday, September 1, reflect a marginal rise of 1 fils across all petrol types, while diesel prices have dropped by 12 fils compared to August.
Revised fuel prices for September 2025 (per litre):
Super 98 petrol: Dh2.70 (up from Dh2.69 in August)
Special 95 petrol: Dh2.58 (up from Dh2.57 in August)
E-Plus 91 petrol: Dh2.51 (up from Dh2.50 in August)
Diesel: Dh2.66 (down from Dh2.78 in August)
The slight increase in petrol prices comes after months of fluctuating adjustments, while the drop in diesel offers relief to transport and logistics operators who were burdened by last month’s spike.
How UAE fuel prices are determined
Since August 2015, the UAE has followed a deregulated fuel pricing model, linking domestic rates to international oil prices. The Fuel Price Committee reviews global trends every month and announces revised rates at the end of the month, which come into effect from the 1st day of the following month.
This system ensures transparency, keeps prices aligned with international market movements, and encourages motorists to use fuel more efficiently.
