Wuthering heights teaser: Internet divided over Jacob Elordi–Margot Robbie starrer

Daijiworld Media Network – Los Angeles

Los Angeles, Sep 4: The much-anticipated first teaser of Wuthering Heights, starring Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi, has been unveiled, stirring mixed reactions across social media. The film is slated for release on February 14, 2026.

Based on Emily Brontë’s 1847 gothic romance, the story unfolds in the misty Yorkshire Moors, portraying the turbulent, obsessive love between Catherine Earnshaw and the orphaned anti-hero Heathcliff. Themes of vengeance, class struggles and social identity form the heart of the narrative.

The casting of Jacob Elordi as Heathcliff has already generated debate, as Brontë had described the character as “dark-skinned,” an identity that shapes his outsider status in the tale.

The 90-second teaser, set to Charli XCX’s track Everything Is Romantic, captures the longing and intensity between the lead pair. A fleeting glimpse of Robbie in a wedding dress — previously leaked during filming — has once again gone viral.

Online reactions, however, remain sharply divided. While many fans expressed delight at Margot Robbie’s long-awaited return to the big screen, others voiced disappointment, questioning the casting and artistic direction.

With the teaser reigniting interest in one of literature’s most enduring romances, all eyes are now on how audiences will receive the film when it premieres next Valentine’s Day.
