London, Sep 8: Singer Arijit Singh’s much-awaited concert in London ended on a dramatic note on Saturday night after the venue management pulled the plug on his final performance citing curfew rules.
Videos circulating on social media show Arijit delivering a soulful rendition of the reprised Saiyaara title track as thousands of fans sang along. But the atmosphere shifted abruptly when the clock struck past 10:30 pm—the official curfew time. The stadium authorities cut power, preventing him from completing the song or bidding farewell to the audience.

An Instagram page that shared the viral clip wrote, “London stadium allegedly cut power at Arijit Singh’s show without letting him say goodbye or finishing the song due to curfew time of 10:30 pm. Meanwhile, the video of him singing Saiyaara is trending.”
The incident triggered mixed reactions online. While fans expressed disappointment, others defended the decision, pointing out that the UK has stringent rules on noise pollution and curfew violations. “Respect for the people who take time damn seriously,” one user commented. Another wrote, “Wish India took curfew times this seriously too.” Some users also noted that Arijit arrived late to the venue, which delayed the show’s ending.
The episode comes just weeks after Arijit Singh made international headlines by surpassing Taylor Swift to become the most-followed artist on Spotify. In June, he collaborated with Ed Sheeran on Sapphire, featuring a cameo by Shah Rukh Khan, which went viral globally.
