Unidentified body of foreign woman found on Arambol Beach

Panaji, Sep 8: An unidentified body of a foreign national was found on the shore at Arambol, police said on Sunday.

According to officials, Mandrem police received a memo from the on-duty medical officer at Tuem Community Health Centre (CHC) on Saturday, stating that a woman, aged around 40-45 years, was brought by ambulance and declared dead on arrival. The doctor suspected that she had drowned.

Police said enquiries revealed that the woman was found lying motionless on Arambol beach before being shifted to CHC.

She has been described as of medium build, fair complexion, with golden brown hair, and was wearing black clothes at the time.

The body has been preserved at Goa medical college, Bambolim. Mandrem police have registered it as an unnatural death.

Further investigations are underway under PSI Jaydeep Palyekar.
